The surrounding area is particularly well suited for making walking or cycling trips. In the whole of the Creuse there are more than 2500 kms of public ways and footpaths. You can go mountain biking in the vicinity. If needed, bikes can be hired from Cycle Hire Online.com
There is a tennis-court in Vallière, 5 minutes walk from the Villa
At Bourganeuf (9 holes-Par 32 cours) and at Gouzon (18 holes and Pitch and Putt) - Both courses are half an hour‘s drive away.
A bit further away; Golf du Chammet (Peyrelevade), 9 holes- Par 36.
And near Limoges (1 our drive) Golf de la Porcelaine (18 holes-Par 72)
As in many other parts of the world Geo-caching is popular here. The whole family can get involved and all you need is a GPS and some kind of transport or you have to be prepared to do some walking.
There is a French geo-caching website, but here in the Creuse department, you find also a specific set of geo-caches that has been transformed into a treasure hunt. For more details have a look at the Terra Aventura website.
Lac de Vassivière is a beautiful lake which is more than 1000 ha wide, and is surrounded by hiking trails, biking trails, beaches, water sports, boat trips, museums and sculptures

On an old abandoned train track near Bourganeuf, cyclorails are for rent (4/5 people maximum per cyclorail).

The only totally natural lake in the Creuse. A national nature reserve that shelters more than 400 plant species and 600 animal species. Its shallow form (maximum depth of 2 metres; sandy bottom) encourages the development of numerous, extremely rare natural milieus.
Les Loups de Chabrières (Wolf park) near Gueret. Here you can the wolves roaming wild in their habitat within large natural enclosures.
Labyrinthe Géant. This is the world’s largest labyrinth. Covering over 2.2 hectares of land and totalling 4.5km of alleys.
Vulcania, Lava and Fire. The park of the sacred volcanoes and legends

Château Villemonteix near Chenerailles. An imposing castle, dating from the fifteenth century, with interesting interior decorating, lots of antiques and many mural tapestries from Aubusson.

The Yellow Stones (Pierres jaunatres). Enormous blocks of granite scattered dramatically on the summit of Mont Barlot offering wonderful views.
Limoges and Saint Léonard de Noblat, famous for its porcelain and enamelware.
Masgot. Known as the "sculpture village", visit here and follow the trail around the village and admire the granite sculptures which adorn the village houses. Beautiful decorated by the sculptor François Michaud (1810 - 1890)
The June 1944 massacre at Oradour-sur-Glane by the SS Das Reich Division. Oradour-sur-Glane has never been rebuilt as a memorial to the victims
